About The Community Stories Project.

The Community Stories Project operates in area libraries, bookstores, and community centers, with a mission to help individuals of all ages tell their stories. Through workshops, editing assistance, and ongoing support, the project offers tools to inspire creativity and confidence in memoir writing. Classes focus on a small-format approach that keeps the writing process from becoming overwhelming, but in-depth work on larger, more traditional story writing is also available.

The Community Stories Project was founded by Deborah Cameron, a local journalist with over two decades of experience in corporate marketing and copywriting. For the past eight years, she’s maintained a simultaneous career in working with older adults. This dual focus allows her to understand both a family's interest in hearing stories and the perceived barriers in telling them, particularly for older adults.
